The Coalition for Cyclist Safety is a coalition of leading experts from the telecom, automotive, and tech industries, all dedicated to significantly improving road safety. The Coalition for Cyclist Safety unites innovators across automotive, telecom, and tech sectors to deploy V2X technology for safer roads. With a focus on vulnerable road users, we aim to bridge industries and accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge safety solutions, making mobility safer for everyone.
October 2023
The Founding Vision
The Coalition for Cycling Safety was officially formed on October 23rd,2023, bringing together 19 key players from the automotive, cycling, telecom, and tech industries. Their mission is to enhance road safety by advancing the deployment of V2X-technology.
January 2024
Expanding the Coalition
In early 2024, notable brands like Stromer, BMC, and Shimano joined the coalition, strengthening the group’s ability to push for safer roads through innovative V2X solutions for cyclists and other vulnerable road users.
August 2024
C-V2X Deployment Plan
In 2024, the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) announced its strategy to integrate V2X technology nationwide, marking a significant milestone for the coalition. This plan accelerates the deployment of V2X systems, directly supporting coalitions mission to enhance cyclist safety by connecting vehicles, infrastructure, and vulnerable road users.
